U.S.-China Green Tech Summit

SCERC has partnered with the Marley Association to present the U.S.-China Green Tech Summit this November 16-17, 2009 at the Grand Hyatt in Beijing. The U.S.-China Green Tech Summit convened over 300 green technology leaders from the United States and China to share and analyze world-class projects essential to cultivating energy sustainability, combating climate change, and promoting low-carbon economic growth.
The 2009 Summit, built on the success of two previous conferences, brought together leaders of industry, government and finance from the United States and China to work towards climate change solutions, maintain focus on job creation and promote energy sustainability. The 2009 Summit did not seek to merely discuss these issues, however, and pushed forward specific projects and innovative collaboration. Marley’s project partners share best practices, innovative green technologies, financing mechanisms and other practical solutions to barriers facing green technology.

UCSC and NASA are currently working to lower their carbon footprint by incorporating cutting edge green technologies, including: solar panels, wind power, electric cars, mass transit, and water reclamation. This new facility will promote advanced thinking and dialogue which will provide a framework for technological advances around the world. This project will feature an educational community, residency, and businesses on a 77 acre property.
